Printing
Large format printing, including poster printing, is done in-house. The IA print-production technicians have over 25 years’ experience and are skilled in the latest techniques for printing, laminating, mounting, and fabrication. They operate two 60-inch large format printers. The HP-360 uses latex ink and can print on fabric, an often-requested material for scientific posters, as well as paper and plastic. This ink is light stable and works well outdoors without lamination. The HP-Z69810 is faster and produces a higher quality image on paper, plastics, and transparencies, but requires laminating for outdoor stability.
In addition to printing, they offer lamination in a variety of thicknesses and materials, including matte and gloss finishes and dry erase films. Prints can be dry-mounted to materials such as Fome-Cor, Gatorfoam, Sintra, or corrugated plastic.
The Image Associates in-house printing and binding staff check all files before printing. They conform to the poster pre-printing guidelines and verify all output after completion. Proper color rendition, font display, proper margins and bleeds, and extraneous register marks or printer’s guides are confirmed.
